1. You get an arm workout while reading.
The way you hold a book can be one of the most telling signs that you need reading glasses.
2. You doze off at your computer
If reading glasses alone don’t help, try blinking more often or pushing your computer farther away from you. This will keep your eyes more relaxed.
3. You need brighter light to read.
Your normal reading lamp doesn’t seem bright enough, the average 60-year-old needs at least three times the amount of light as a 20-year-old.
4. You keep getting headaches
If the headache is right behind your eyes, the cause could be hyperopia or astigmatism (when objects look blurry at certain angles due to the cornea’s shape). Both problems can be corrected with glasses.
5. You see halos.
You may see bright circles appear around lights of various shapes and sizes.
6. You’re older than 40. Once you hit your forties, you’re almost guaranteed to experience one or more of the previous symptoms.
We suggest you to follow the *20-20-20 rule*, to prevent eye strain.
The 20-20-20 rule
This will help you to reduce digital eye-strain and also relax your tired eyes.
20 Minutes
Every 20minutes: Give your eyes a break and take your eyes off your computer
Blink often to refresh your eyes: Blinking helps produces tears that moisten and refresh your eyes.
20 Feet
Looking at something 20 feet away.
Lean back and close your eyes for a few moments.
Adjust computer display settings: Adjust the brightness, text size, contrast and cool temperature.
20 seconds
Take a break every 20 minutes for at least 20 seconds.
To reduce the risk for not only eye strain but neck, back and shoulder pain, take frequent breaks from your computer.
Check out this which we created to assist you in less eye strain and a more enjoyable day.
